The Frederick R Smith blog has moved to a new home:
https://frederickrsmith.substack.com
If so desired, you can use your email address to login into the system. Once in, and subscribed, Substack will automatically send you an email with a special link to let you in to read Fred’s stuff. Create your own profile so you can use your real name or a pseudonym if you desire to add comments anonymously. If desired to not use a password, just your email is all that is needed. Specifically, in place of a password, the system will send you a special email each time to get into the system. Alternately, you can just let the system send you right in to read the blog posts (no commenting or tapping the like button in that case).
Rather than an email from me, for each new posting, if registered you will get a personal subscription email from Fred via the substack system containing the full text and graphics of each new Fred Smith Speaks posting along with a link to the online content. That way, if the mad machine decides to cancel Fred, we all will have an archived copy in email. Of course, you can cancel a subscription if so desired. However, it is necessary to add yourself get a subscription for this to work. The system does not share email addresses (rest assured Fred will not). If you are hesitant to subscribe, just bookmark:
https://frederickrsmith.substack.com
And once in, choose “just read” to review what’s happening at your convenience.
This new Substack website has a lot more bells and whistles and most importantly the automatic subscriptions. In the online postings, you can list Fred’s posts by “New,” “Top,” “Community” (posts with comments) or by “Search.” There is an easy “like” (heart) button as well as a good com box. Fred has taken the time to review all of his past posts and made some corrections, updated links, and applied a consistent formatting throughout. We are sure you will like it much better than the old system.
The old Blogspot will stay in place for a while and a redirection link will be added to each post to direct readers to Substack.
If you see any bloopers or have suggestions Fred says he will would like your feedback sent to fred.smith369@yahoo.com.
Fred
